Dedicated to the success of the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District. As a Board member I have been diligent in making sure the budget is balanced, facilities maintained and that services are provided to satisfy the citizens of Simi Valley and Oak Park.
I have had the benefit of being an employee of the District and a volunteer to the District. I am very proud of the success of the District and my personal involvement. My goal is to insure that the parks, trails and community centers are maintained and programs offered to benefit all citizens. Most importantly, I was very instrumental in the sale of the 55 year old Park District facilities and the purchase of new facilities that will last the District for the next 50 plus years. The new building ,in addition to housing office, recreation and maintenance staff, will also provide recreation activities and meeting space for the community. The sale and purchase provided the District to pay off the new facilities and keep the Rancho Simi Recreation & Park District debt free. I am in support of the BMX track, completion of recreation facilities at Rancho Santa Susana Park and completion of the recreation facilities at the new headquarters. In Oak Park, bringing all facilities including the lagoon back to its original beauty. I am in favor of saving the tree at Mae Boyar Park.. Also on my list of priorities is maintaining separate financial records for the Oak Park community and to be responsive to the needs of the Oak Park Community. Other notable successes is the acquisition of Alamos Canyon adding over 300 acres of open space. Since being on the board, there has been the completion of Chumash and Runkle Parks, addition of the pickleball courts, bocce courts, the Arroyo Greenway trail, new slate plaza and the addition of the Knolls community center just to name a few. Also, the remaining Colony House was moved to the Strathearn Park finishing the long term goal of the Strathearn Historical Society. My goal is to continue to have a Park & Recreation District the residents can be proud of.
Professionally, i am the owner of Urban Strategies, a land use and government policy consulting firm since 1989. The company has assisted with many local projects including Mt Sinai Memorial Park, Von's Center, and multiple senior residential projects.
